1st laugh

Addie laughed for the 1st time today! My dad claims she laughed for him a few weeks ago but I wasn't there so I'm not counting it. Anyway, I got it on video so here it is (sorry for my annoyingly cheesy voice and baby talk!)

1st day at church

Today I took Addie to church for the first time. I left her in the nursery which meant that she was left with someone other than family for the 1st time too.....it was very nerve wracking for me but she did great and slept the whole time. We went with Shawna and Aspen McCarthy and Aspen (she's 3) was so cute with Addie! After church we went to breakfast and Aspen was kissing on her and rubbing her face and head and pinching her "chubby" cheeks. Then she was playing peek a boo and had her smiling pretty good. It was a really fun morning!

Love this quote!

"Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect, it means you have decided to look past the imperfections."

2 month checkup

So Addie had her 2 month checkup today and everything was great. She now weighs 9 lbs 8 oz and is 20 1/2 inches long. She is still pretty little for her age but she is growing well. She had to get 3 shots but she did so well and only cried for a minute. I can't believe she is already so big!

Great news!!!!!

So today we received some of the best news I have heard in a loooooong time! Addie had an appointmet with her orthopedic Dr. and we were to find out if she was going to have to be put in a cast for her hip dysplasia. We started out by getting an ultrasound and they told us that the left hip was 100% better and in it's socket. They were having a hard time getting a picture of the right hip but after the ultrasound tech and the radiologist looked at the pictures they determined that the femoral was not in it's socket. Of course we were dreading our appointment with Dr. Klatt because we really didn't want to hear that our baby had to wear a cast for the nest 12 weeks. We waited for the Dr. for over and hour and it was TORTURE!!! He finally came in with this horrible look on his face like he was about to drop the bomb and then he examined her hips. To our surprise and his, he thought that the hip felt like it was in it's socket. Then he got the head Dr. to come and look at it also and he thought the same thing. They then told us that she did not have to wear her hard brace anymore and is back to her soft pavlik harness. She has to wear it for 4 more weeks and as long as the hips stay in their sockets, she will be done with it on March 22!! We are so happy and grateful and want to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers! Whoo hoo! Today was a GREAT day!!!

Getting bigger

Today Addie was able to wear her first 0-3 month outfit and she looked so adorable! She also took her first trip to target and slept through the whole thing!
She also wore some new jammies that Aunt Marci got her and got to swing in her swing. It was a good day!!

Crazy day...

So yesterday was quite the adventure for Addie and I! I noticed when I was feeding her in the middle of the night that she had this weird fluid filled bump on the side of her head. I called the Dr. the next morning and they had me come in to check it out (yes, my Dr. is open on sunday, AWESOME!) They asked me all kinds of questions about if I had dropped her or if she bumped her head. I told them no...they decided to send me to Primary Childrens so she could get a skull xray. So I drove downtown in a blizzard and we got her all taken care of. The xray showed nothing but htey decided it was a bruise that had been there when she was born that had resolved itself and turned into a blood pocket....weird! I think thye have no idea and just made it up. Oh well, at least she is fine!

Last night we invited ourselves to Aunt Wendys house for dinner. We had an awesome dinner and dessert and really enjoyed hanging out with everyone. Charlie is still as rambunctious as ever! Sophie was so cute just wandering around all night checking everything out and Layla was the most adorable thing ever, just happy and smiley all night. She really wanted to play with Addie. Casey and Whit are the most well behaved, polite sweet kids I have ever met, Mom and Dad should be proud. It was so good to see everyone and join in on Rory's bday celebration (Sorry about turning 30!) Addie behaved herslef most of the night until she had a meltdown about 930 and had to be taken home. She cried most of the way and then wore herself out. What a great night! I hope I can invite myself to dinner again soon!

Busy day

So charles and I spent the majority of the day and this week getting organized for our move to vegas. We got a lot done and the baby must be going through a growth spurt because she slept most of the day. He leaves tomorrow and I am going to miss him so much! I am also not really sure how the "single" mom thing is going to work. I guess we'll see...

Idaho Falls

We went to Idaho Falls last weekend to visit my parents. We had a great time and Addie got to meet her Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Ted for the first time. She was very excited....I willpost pictures soon....I left my camera in Idaho Falls.

She also had her first holiday, Valentine's! She spent the day relaxin' with her Grandma O, visiting with her Granny and Aunt Shawna and then we had a delicious roast beef dinner.

Addie also got a new swing from Aunt Marci, Uncle Todd and Cousin Ireland and she LOVES it!! She got to meet Cousin Ireland for the first time and Ireland tried the old switcheroo on her with the bottle and the binky...it was pretty funny!

She has started smiling almost daily now...

Addie's New Brace

Today we went to the orthopedic Dr. and the harness she was in was not working so she had to get a new more rigid brace. It was very hard for us to see our sweet little baby put into this device but we know it is for the best. She was only uncomfortable for about 4 hours and then she calmed down and slept great that night. She will have to wear this brace for 3 weeks and then she will have another appointment to determine whether it is working or not. If it is working she will wear it for 4 more weeks and then will go back to wearing her soft harness for a few weeks. If it doesn't work then she will have to be put in a cast for 12 weeks.... We need lots of prayers that this brace will work :)
